Tadeusz Kościuszko was a Polish-Lithuanian military engineer, statesman, and leader who became a national hero in Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and the United States. He served as a brigadier general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Kościuszko later led an uprising against Russian and Prussian partitioners of Poland. |
